Welcome to the home of the Vermont Sting, an AAU Basketball Program located in Central Vermont. The 2008 AAU season will be the inaugural season for the Vermont Sting, which was created for the advancement of girls and boys competitive basketball and skill development. Our focus is on teaching fundamentals, physical conditioning, team play and having fun.
The Vermont Sting strives to provide our athletes the opportunity to develop confidence, poise, self control, self esteem and discipline.
Our mission is to encourage young ladies and gentlemen to strive for excellence in their endeavors as athletes. To provide financial and educational assistance and support to our athletes. To stimulate community interest and support for girls and boys basketball. To encourage personal growth, team play, and social enjoyment among participants.
Our season begins March 2008 and will continue until early June 2008 unless otherwise stated. All Sting teams practice twice a week and will play in at least 4 tournaments during the 2008 season. The Sting will hold its first AAU tournament on the weekend of ArprPractice facilities will vary from month to month. At this point the Sting will practice primarily in Barre. Other practice facilities will include Vermont Technical College, Berlin Elementary School, Crossett Brook Middle School, and Spaulding High School (Barre).
